Purty much all the guys down here in America, don't care much about their hair. but damn those Candianz! those guys grow it past their wastes.

i think it has something to do with american indians having to/or expected to "assimilate" into that stereotypical "american teen" ... in canada there doesnt seem to be that need to look like everyone else ...

i've lived in both countries and have seen american moms cut their sons hair cuz of comments they get from white ppl ... "what a beautiful little girl with such long hair!" and then they get all offended "cant they tell he's a little boy?"

whereas in canada theres more of norm of native children with long hair - especially boys ... and you even get white boys growin out their hair cuz all the girls are going crazy over "so and so's" long hair.

yep mostly all mah guy cuzins be growing thier hair out too.......i have at least 10 of them growing it out and lemme tell you thier hair IS long!!!!:O lol j/p but mah lil brutha is too he has it at shoulder length and well mah 10 cuzins have theirs at waist length from ages 4 to at least maybe 25 yrs old lol but yea....some of them dont take goood care of it like they should but the majority does have long hair and are taking care of it......[there might be more than 10 cuzins though....]

Wish My lil bro and cuz'n'z would grow their hair out!
i just got one lil cuz'n that's growing his hair out and he's only 7!
But it all goes back to that they just want to blend in with the rest of society.
And don't blame em cuze we girls are the same way.

My little brother hes 11 years old and when he was younger he would be mistaken for a little girl. My little brother used to always want to cut his hair but my mom wouldn't let him. Because when my kokum died she told my mom not to let any of us kids to cut our hair. Because it symbolizes our culture and the strentght of that person. Now and days when my little brother gets mistaken he goes all out and tells who ever says that "I am a boy". Its funny because the people get embrassed of their mistake. But yeah and I myself have hair down to my waist. I am not gonna cut it because it represent my culture and strength and because I am a pow wow dancer.

Personally I dont like my hair long. But Id love my hair and i get my hair cut and highlighted every 2 months. But if i wanted to represent my culture by my hair i think it be passed my a$$
