Actually No One Every Says Any Thing Mean To Me,But Other Natives But Its Always in Good Fun Like We Call Each Other Racist Names Agaist Native People But We all Laugh About It. I Think That white/black/green people dont bug me because i mkind of big hehe. and i dont have to worry about it in school because i go to a private school (natives only school)

Racism goes more than one way. Think about how you hate the way you've been treated by certain people before you go and slam on a mix-blood or someone who doesn't "look" native... Everyone has a reason for what they do/ how they behave. We don't have to agree with it, just understand that they have the right to their own viewpoints... until they start trying to hurt other people because of them.

i don know how many kids at my school make fun of me...thers only three kids that i know of are like me...we get stuff like ''hey how are ya'' an that mouth bangin thing...they call us grls pocahantas an the boy squanto...its hard to be mad an laugh at the same time they look like straight up nerds when they do that...i let em know i aint puttin up wit it...you either say somethin nice or don speak to me at all

Hi. I read this post this morning and have wanted to reply all day. I think you all have every right to be angry and your feelings are totally valid. The sad thing is, what you are dealing with now is just the beginning. It's like "practice" to the horrible ways you will see people treat each other to come. You all are strong and proud and that's good. When someone knocks you down now it might take you a little longer to get up, but you'll get faster and faster. Then eventually it will become harder to knock you down at all.

I'm just shocked that there are people still in the world who use the words 'injun' and do the mouth-hitty thing (what the hell is that called, anyway?). Pocahontas and Squanto? Dayum. Are these people's parents brother and sister or something?
Then again, I probably shouldn't be surprised. Racism is usually expressed by the most ignorant anyway.

Now that is a new one, it's atrocious nonetheless. I've called names by almost every race, including my famliy. My Cousins called me "tonto" because I was the only one of them that had very dark hair. They also called me "Calico" because my hair lightens (only in patches) during the summer.

Some little black kids threw rocks at my car and called me snow bunny (I kind of think this one is funny, though) and honkey before.

My husband's Mother is white and Father is black so back in school I was called ni**er lover.

It does suck, I can deal with people calling me names now but I dread the day someone says something about one of my girls.

I don't get treated bad by the white people as much as I do the ndn girls... I grew up with all my ndn friends and as soon as we hit middle school they started acting like I was some white Bi*** that was in their way... I may not be full blood but I am still ndn and I was raised in my culture and just because I was a cheerleader they wanted to hate me... I couldn't help that the Spirit gave me the courage to look past race and be friends with everyone... it was like they didn't want to make and effort to be friends with anyone except for their cousins and it was really hard to go powwow'n and stuff when all the girls hated me and all they ndn guys were really tight with me... cuz then they started calling me a wh***... and it got to where they were nice to my face and then started talking behind my back... It really hurt me because a lot of these girls where my cousins and stuff and it was like I was never really accepted by them... I just wish that they could have got over the idea of how much indian I am... I still bothers me and I live in a different state and it's been almost four years since ive seen them...

They have treated me badly in Grade 6-8...I remember it too. Then the fun stopped in high school for them because I had my affiliations with friends from Sagamok and cousins from Birch Island. I guess the natives had the last laugh there ehy?! Anyways, the white people are afraid of the native people in high school and thats the way it should always be...

Oh man do I have one, I went to this orientation thing at another highschool to meet some kids that will be taking a same class as me, and well where we were the kids don't like the natives all that much. So couple of these girls just looked me and my friend up and down asked us if we were from our rez school, snapped there eyes at us and walked away. Then as we were leaving we decided to be nice and wave bye to the bus and one of the boys did that thing where they put there hand over there mouth. Man we were all mad!! All my classmates thought that disrespectful!! But oh well what can ya do these days! It's just there ignorantce. :(

I've had some bad affiliations with white ppls and some good ones, mostly since I live in the flat state of kansas in the country theres just a bunch of white hillbillies but every so often theres some white kid who thinks that they can show an ndn boy who the boss is and end up getting there A$$ kicked, but then I've also had some good meet-ups where they respect my culture and heritage which there mostly is in this boring state, (the hillbillies in Kansas a little past Olathe are very weird)
