Windows XP vs. Windows Vista

Hey all, I don't know how many people have "upgraded" to Vista. About 9 months ago I was taken in by the eye-candy that is Vista and have had some problems with it. Seems that it will start in its own time (start-up speed) and go to sleep (BSOD) when it feels like it. The laptop was a nize one for the price. But had been hating it almost from go. Anyway, if anyone else out there has a this laptop or something similar and wants to "Upgrade" to Windows XP this will probably be your good pal:

It's an HP driver page and whatnot but everyone I know seems to have an HP somewhere. Have fun and good luck.

We refuse to upgrade to VISTA until the problems are solved. We have to special order our 200+ new computers with XP.

My daughter has a new laptop with Vista and she doesn't have many problems, but she doesn't use it very intensely.

Please upgrade to Win98. It has all the elegant simplicity of WIN 95, with some extras. I wish we could go back to WIN 98. All our software actually worked.

I'm still on WIN 2000 and LOVE IT!! But I've used XP enough now that I feel confident to upgrade this summer.

a suggestion...if you like XP and dont want to use vista, purchase a copy of XP now ,it is scheduled to be pulled off the market in june...there has been alot of petioning of microsoft to keep selling and updating XP but so far they havent bowed to public demand...
i wont use vista unless forced to...i think bill gates knows its junk too because there is a brand new operating system being released in 2010 to replace vista...

when they released vista, microsoft didnt provide advanced copies to websites etc for configurations of their systems....so many companies have had to play catch up and with the flaws in vista, theyve had a night mare trying to get their systems to work with vista

Nahookos is an unknown quantity at this point
My lap top with Windows ME finally gave out on me and I had no choice but to get a new desktop with Windows Vista on it. No problems so far with it, but some applications don't work with the Vista environment. Right now, I'm looking for a lap top with Windows XP. The desktop suits me well for what I do with it, but I need some applications that I know still works in XP.

One last thing, the video card that I use is an NVidia GeForce Go 6100(integrated vid chip) and in order to get it working I kind of had to force it to take the GeForce Go 6150 drivers. When I installed XP over Vista the drivers that XP installed when it booted up worked the basics but not all the functions of the chip. I worked on it for a couple of hours trying to install the right drivers but to no avail finally if you force the 6150 drivers the functions work and all seems to be working fine. Anyway ya'll are probably bored to tears if you have read this far, so I'll sign off and leave youse alone. Peace all I'm out
