defragment

Someone showed me once, but haven't done it since that time, Can you tell me the steps to defragment?

Click on start then go to programs then accessories and system tools!

I did get that far before asking how. It gives me a graph looking report, but what do I actually do to start the defragmenting, I don't see an option from there?

Under that graph there is the Analyze and there is Defragment - pick Defrag and go from there!

On the graph lookin page you were talkin about.... just select your hard drive (C:\) and it should start. Let it run thru w/out any other programs running.

According to the microsoft Guru(some of know him as the big dummy), start, to programs,to accessories to system tools. Here you find scandisk and diskdefragment. Run scandisk first-thourough to automatically fix errors, then run defragment. Depending on how long it's been, and how much you got saved as how long it takes.
