OK, why is it that, if I read a thread that is especially long or even not that long and I go out of the thread I'm no longer logged in? I mean, sometimes it's just for two minutes! Anything I can do to change that, because it's starting to get real annoying to log in every ten minutes or so.

couple of questions:
1. What version of windows? 2. You use Internet Explores to do things like powwows.com? 3.Dialup, DSL, or Cable Modem? Windows-control panel to Internet Options. Delete Cookies, Delete Temp Files and clear History are you going in thru email links to look at threads and posts? or do you go thru sever(like AOL) or Interet Exploerer and log onto powwows.com and then look? Certain servers with DSL can be a problem. Post answers here and maybe we can help you better

I'd guess it's a cookie problem. Best advice would be bake some cookies, and send them to me in the mail...Chocolate chip!
rofl,, naa. Delete your cookies, your browsers history, Temp files, etc. Then restart your system, and try again, making sure you actually log out of PW.com first. Much Love

Well, I figured out a semi-solution. It has to do with one of my options that I picked, you know, the one where you don't want to be logged on automatically. Yeah, changed that and haven't had a problem, but since work and school computers are public I have to change it before I leave pws.com. Nice feature... But I'll start working on those cookies. :D

next time you sign in and it brings you back up to main page, go
to user cp at top of page into edit options. Check there to make sure you are checked yes to automatically log in and browse board with cookies. If not click yes on both and then submit at bottom of page.

FYI-before you get confused. Certain servers like AOL, with DSL, have a track record of messing up on certain things,i.e. going into the gallery and chatroom. Netzero on networking on a T3,or cable modem has difficulties signing in and out and various other problems sometimes, thru Internet Explorer. I can give more examples but why waste the space. If you are on DSL, Networking, or Cable Modem download Opera from www.opera.com. Use this on networking on a T3 line and eliminated problems going thru Internet Explorer that we were having. Also if you are on Windows ME, invest and upgrade to at least 2000 Pro, or go backwards to 98 SE.

SpottedElk, I have had no problem since I changed my user option to sign in automatically. BUT, I think it's stupid that one thing would solve the problem--I had no problems with any other sites--just pws.com. And, I have to change that user option before I log out because most of my time spent on pws.com is on public computers.
And, my home computer didn't give me as much grief as the public ones--and no downloading here. :) Like I wrote before, just change that option. But thanks for your help!!! :D
