Hello, I'm going to post a list of some nice programs that will help people out. Just stuff that I use personally, and that I'd recamend to others. Maybe it will help someone out :)
1. Trillian (This program lets you connect to all of the most important, and well known messengers all at once, one clean buddy list, making it easier, and less RAM consuming than trying to keep all of them open at once) 2. Gladiator Scanner (A absolutely free Anti-Virus, Free Updates and all) 3. Ad-Aware (Spyware Detection. Catches, and Deletes Spyware from your PC, Life saving program to have :) ) 4. Kazaa Lite (Kazaa without all the ad's, Spyware, and hassle.) 5. Adsubtract Pro (This is, in my opinon the best Popup Blocker out there, if you really use them. I myself don't, but alot of folks do. It also has the ability to delete cookies, and even block annoying Midi files from playing on websites you visit) All files (to my knowledge) are availible through www.downloads.com. If not, send me a Private Message, and I will do my best to find you a link where you can download it from.

I gotta say that I really don't like adware. I tried to use it and it gave me more trouble then anything. And the added program just took up space that could be used for something else. As for the anti-virus I would stick with the big name brand, e.g Norton or Mcafee. Althought neither one is better than the other they are both good, I can use mcafee and scan and find nothing then I can unload that and upload Norton and scan and find what mcafee didn't and vise versa. So neither one is better or worse then the other. But this is only my opinion.

A tool that we utilize around here occasionally is a free trend micro service. You can go to Antivirus.com and follow the free scan links. We have found viruses with that one that Norton misssed.

I personally do use Norton myself, however, That alternitive was a decent Free Antivirus with reliable updates (From what I've tested and seen). Simply for someone who doesn't get into warez, or dont have the money too afford Nortons horrific price.
Mcaffee was used by me for awhile, but I didn't like it too much. It was so air tight, I couldn't send or receive files via AIM/Paltalk/etc. Ad-aware hasn't given me much of a problem. I test a whole lot of programs out, and help find good and bad software for a few Juggalo sites to help people out, so I get massive amounts of spyware each search (Last being like 960 spyware files detected and erased) which is why it comes in handy for me. :D

gota say adaware hasn't been a problem here either. Infact when I set the software up for somebody on a tower or laptop this is one of the first ones I put on after internet service, and so far no problems after all the time I been dealing with it. Seems to be doing what it was basically designed to do.

Junk Mail
Is there a way to block junk mail if the mail provider doesn't offer that option?

More than likely yes, what mail server/program are you using to read your mail? The way may include 3rd party software, but none the less, it usually can be done.

Does anyone here actually use Gator? I always see the dumb thing trying to download itself.

As far as the email question....Are you using a POP3 Box (aka-Outlook Express?) If so, I have found the file for ya. From what I've heard, and tested a little, SpamPal is a great program, very small, and best of all, it's free. Info From Developer: This spam-filtering tool checks the source of your incoming mail against lists of known spammers. It also includes extensive whitelisting features and other features to automatically minimize the chance of legitimate mail being mistaken for spam. It can be used with any mail program and any POP3 mailbox. Also out of like 191 votes, it has a 91% Thumbs up rating on Downloads.com. The link to the program download is below (Also under a MB in file size :-D) SpamPal Link There ya go. I hope that helps ya out :D
