Smile Hello....a question about powwows in California and Arizona

Hello

My name is Helen and I am very interested in visiting your powwows when I travel to US sometime in the summer this year. I know there should be a powwow in Calnifornia and Arizona in the summer, but dont know if it is convenient to get there. Any ideas for me? I am fascinated by your culture and your dance, I really feel lucky that I found this site.

Thanks

Helen

Welcome Helen. Just a note about this forum - Spectators forum is the only forum on this website where Moderators review posts prior to them showing up in the forum. It sometimes takes a little while before the Moderators read and approve it.

Window Rock, AZ

Howdy,
Every year there is a great powwow in Window Rock, AZ held in connection with the Navajo tribal fair and rodeo. The fair is like a big state fair, and this year it runs from September 1 to 7. The powwow is not scheduled yet, but likely it will go from September 5 to 7. It's a good size powwow, over 300 dancers and some 25 drums. Come around and introduce yourself, if you go. There are also powwows held on the Apache Reservation, in the Phoenix, AZ area, Parker, AZ, Flagstaff, AZ, Kayenta, AZ, and Tuba City, AZ. Just have to keep checking with this website for when these powwows will be held. Walk easy.
