Hello from the UK
Hi, my names Charlotte and i am from the UK.
Bit of background on me; I have always thought that PowWows look amazing and all who participate are amazingly talented with your dancing. I would love to visit a PowWow but we don't have them in the UK  I have been intrested in Native American history and culture etc for as long as i can remember and have quite a few books which i am always glued to. So anyways just wanted to say hi. |

hi charlotte...im middle of the sky woman...im studying english lit at a university...my favorite book is wuthering heights...and i like coronation street..my family dances at powwows....i like to go to powwows when i have the time and money...im going to gathering of nations in alburquerque new mexico...(biggest powwow in north america) in april.....nice to meet you

Hi Charlotte, and welcome to the site. Since you joined I've learned more about MOTS than I knew because I'm new around here (this site)also.
Maybe some day you'll be able to visit the States and attend a Powwow. It would definitely make you glad you visited. |

I am living in Hong Kong right now...I am planning to visit US sometimes in the summer and I am very interested in your culture and your dance. The legends of Cherokees, Apache...etc...I am wondering if there is a powwow in California this June? Is it easily accessible? Thanks Helen |

as much as i believe we Native people are supposed to share our culture and traditions, my spiritual leaders have always taught this so that we may help others in life, i am still just not a fan of non-Natives throwing "powwows"...but that is another discussion. i think the best way for you to learn about the culture (remember that powwows are INTERTRIBAL SOCIAL EVENTS) is to come to the US or make some indigenous friends. culture cannot be learned in books, only through participation and engagement. be respectful of our culture, and also, learn about yours! we were all indigenous once...it will help you to understand first nations people better -Amileah
