Memorial Singing Contest..drum Groups Please Read!!
ATTENTION, THE NANCY MARTELL MEMORIAL SINGING CONTEST THAT WAS
Scheduled to be held during the Wadopana Traditional Powwow in August has been moved to the Poplar Indian Days Powwow, August 31 - September 2, in Poplar, Montana. We hope that some of you drums will be able to attend this powwow and help support us! This will be a $1,000.00 winner-take-all singing contest, 2007 will be $1,500.00 and 2009 will be $2,000.00. Again, we hope to see yo all there!! If you need any information or would like to let us know that you will be there feel free to write to us and let us know! Aho.....YHS Nancy was our mother and she passed away in 2005 of cancer that she foughtf for 4 years. She was our biggest supporter and she always encouraged us to sing, sing, sing! Our First Annual Memorial Singing Contest was held last year, 2006, at the Wadopana Traditional Powwow with a drum from Canada called Lightning Spirit winning the $500.00. |
