Ol' Style Powwow Singing
Does anybody know how to start:
The Snake and Buffalo dance songs? Trot or horse stealing songs? Scalp/Victory Dance Songs? Soldier Dance/War Mothers Songs?

umm these songs should be known by southern groups for sure right? i mean you cant really serve as a southern host and be called upon to sing these types and not know them right? well ive seen a few groups that dont oh well live and learn

gah we had to sing scalp dance this weekend in louisiana..
I know how to start the comanche n kiowa flag songs...which are scalp dance songs if I'm not mistaken... I got you on buffalo and I know that one snake dance(you know that one) but i never can remember it... especially horse stealin songs...I asked my dad one time how come that one song is so hard to sing...he said because the dang foo was trying to steal a clidesdale...lmao..but yea trots too.. and I love singing those soldier dance songs...and war mothers.. keen...and them oolllld comanche round dances too...

My snake dance always startsout stright... then somewhere it goes crooked.... Thats a hard song and that tail on da end... I'm lost on da scalp.... and war mothers... I know kiowa ones... but very few.... and solider songs.... man i'm lost... thats what recorders r for! I love me some horse stealin/trot songs.... If anything I a gourd dance singer... so I know dem buffalo songs.... and I can remember as a kid they used to always sing snake and buffalo songs at dances.... not hardly anymore....
