Not that I am ever gonna do it or hope to actually see it, but...

How does one FEATHER a drum and can it be misconstrued as calling up a song or honoring a drum which I have seen.

I HAVE seen a whole drum pick up and run when the MC got into an argument with a spectator and the spectator yelled F you accress the arbor. Connecticut, go figure.

IVE HAD DANCERS COME UP TO A DRUM AND TOUCH THEIR FEATHER TO IT WHILE SINGING A REALLY GOOD SONG. GRANTED WE ARENT 'PERFECT' BUT IF THE PERSON WAS TICKED OFF, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN DANCING HIS BUTT OFF.

OR IS IT DIFFERENT IF A DANCER DOES IT COMPARED TO SOMEONE NOT DANCING?

sorry, caps lock on at work, im not yelling.

I have never seen or hear of a feather used in such a negative way. I'm assuming they are using eagle feathers (if they are allowed to have those.)

I have seen someone "feather" a drum as on honoring. He was a straight dancer.

Originally from Indiana, I recall hearing something a long, long time ago when I was a lad, that puting and owl feather on the drum was a very bad thing. Don't know if it was true and never seen it happen so I don't know what whould have happened nor how messy it would have gotten. Seems that in KY it gets rather messy when a drum is feathered.

Didn't seem to be my place to try to find out either :-)

So I have seen...

Whistling a drum
Fanning a drum
Touching the drum
Touching a feather to a drum
throwing tobacco on a drum
throwing money on a drum
and even once a baby fell on a drum

none of these were for bad reasons or had a bad effect.

(except the bump on the babys head)

Yeah haven't you heard? Usually dropping a baby on a drum is an honor, but if the baby has a stinky diaper it means the drum sounds like crap.

Hey I heard about that Llama thing!!!

The best story I heard was when a guy plopped a turkey on a southern drum as a gift.
