There are a few good ones here on the east coast. The only one I know of that is trying to go further is Edisto River Singers. They are trying to make a cd so they can get a van for the group to travel more on the coast and further like to out west. There are other groups out here but I am not that familiar with them as I am to ERS. I just see them at pow wows around here and have not problems with any of them. I personally like everyone.

I would have to say that southern boys is coming out strong... sometimes with the crew and sometimes just 7 of them... all in all they put out the music and are really good... ;)

Thumbs up

SOUTHERN BOYZ R PRETTY GOOD BUT THEY NEED TO FIND A STEADY CREW TO TRAVEL WITH SO THEY CAN SING THEIR OWN SONGS.ITS HARD TO BE CHAMPIONS WITH JUST 5 SINGERS.THESE COMANCHE BOYS DONT KISS *** EITHER JUST TO WIN A CONTEST F#$K THAT.

the poor boys didn't juss come up with a clever name, they really are poor...they know few songs and every time they sing it reminds me of the Bataan Death march. that's just what i think, i might be wrong...but that's highly unlikely

Sizzortail is a great group of guys and gals. Awesome attitudes and awesome singing. CrickettHill has been hanging out around the Chicago area helping out the American Indian Center and hitting some contest but mostly traditional powwows.

I heard SizzarTail this summer and they rocked, did not have the chours line I was used to them having but still sounded awsome. I sang with Poor Boys for a day down in Mississippi, nice guys and they can rock. They know the classics too.

But I still loved to hear Cozads and Bad Medicne. As for YellowJacket they were always to low and I never really like there sound. Now as for this Cricketthill never heard them, hope to find them sometime, cause I am from the mid-west.....TMS

I've heard of two good up and coming southern groups. They are Southern Gravey and NDN Avenue. These two groups mostly stick out to the midwest and southwest. Watch southern drums these guys could blow you away!!!!!!

Its like my friend Sammy says "Stick to the basics, just stick to the basics"

Unhappy

I think YoungBird has had tough year(2001). They have gone through some changes . Losing some singers because of disputes in the group and trying to project this new image ever since they won Schemitz in 2000. They have hit all the major contests and all year its been the same old 3rd place win all year. Lets see GAthering, WildHorse, PostFalls, And Schimitz. Oh well YB goodluck next year.
And as for YellowJacket I heard at Southern Ute Fair this year they have actually split down the middle and competed against each-other there, the other group is called 12- Gauge but hey that just what I heard. Oh yeah There's kinda cool circle between YoungBird, SizzorTail, and Southern Boys, meaning all these singers tend to always help each-other out whenever.
