Best Dressed?
Seeing how we've been on the subject of how Southern Drum Groups are relatively new, I've been wondering where the notion of "Best Dressed" come from? Is this something that come about from the large Commercial/Contest Pow Wows? Or is it something that evolved from the thought of "looking your best for Grandpa" and helped along by the Pow Wow?

southern attire
Dressing at the center drum, is different than out on the road.Prime example is that one knows the difference that you are not suppose to wear shorts out there, yet i wear shorts out on the road, sorry g-pa late

to me, its nice that the guys around the drum have put some effort to look nice while at the pow wow, big or small. at some larger pow wows, there is a best dressed catagory for the drum groups. some of the groups have shirts or have a dress code for the pow wow.
