By the way, those are in no particular order. I think it's honestly a good thing. Gives everybody a little more opportunity to sing. Ithink it might also kick up the competition if you get just seven Southern drums in there. Should be quite interesting.

Hey a quick question for you southern dudes. Here in the north we are catergorized as two seperate styles. Is it kind of the same thing down south? 'Cause I was thinking drums like white tail, and rosehill, would be more comtemp sounding, and drums like bad medicine and greyhorse would be the straighter style. What do you think? Or is southern just southern?

For the most part, I'd say Southern is just southern. You're right though--some groups are a lot more contemporary sounding than others. All in preference I guess. But I've never heard of separate distictions.

That leaves Young Bird, Bad Medicine and Sizzortail. Which 2 of the 3 are stronger? Or perhaps this is a disadvantage of having only 7!

I think that would be a good idea to have contempory southern and old style.

Alot of groups like youngbird, Southern boys, Otter trail, Rose hill
etc. they sing new songs at big competion dances for the most part.

Cozad, Bad Medicine, white tail, grey horse sing older or songs that stick pretty close to thier tribe.

Don't mean to put any Drums into catogorys though.

just my thought if they did somthing like that they should stick to all new songs or all old songs..

i have spoken!
