there are singers that are at the top of each category
strongest voice: hyde toppah
highest and clearest: jimmy kemble
most pleasent to listen to: anthony monoessy or cheevers toppah
most knowledgeable: leonard cozad sr.
singer most like to sing with: berkey monoessy
best all around: jimmy kemble

these is just my opinion

I ALREADY RESPONDED UP IN NORTHERN SINGING, IF I WAS MORE FAMILIAR WITH NAMES I WOULD PUT THEM. SORRY. BUT LIKE I MENTIONED BEFORE THERE ARE ALOT OF REALLY NICE SOUNDING SINGERS OUT THERE

Yeah,I think the Cozad's sing very well. I also had the chance to hear other southern singers. I like Joe Fish sound.

But...as of right now,I would have to say I could listen to ALEX SANTOS smooth voice ALOT. HE seems to have this style that catches one's attention.:)

kool breeze what you talkin about the cozads sound terrible. when they are crewed they are hard to beat. yea they might travel with only a few singers to most powwows and might sound off sometimes but who doesnt have those days.

Fo Sho Jimmy Kemble has the all around voice, I also like Anthony Monoessy and Curtis Hamilton-Youngbird.

You know, that I posted my OWN opinion of who I THOUGHT sounded good.
I love ALL the southern drum groups. But as I said, Mr. Alex Santos is who I am currently listening to.
As for the "fake ndn" comment, opinions are like arshole's,everyone has one and some stink:p
Sometimes our own people seem to be more critical and they don't even take the time to learn our songs or respect the drum.
I applaud these young men for going and learning all the appropriate songs that are out there.(and there are alot of songs)
If it wasn't for them learning,we wouldn't have alot of the good music that we do have.

And besides,haven't you heard that imitation is the BEST form or flattery?:)

Nowadays, there's alot of wannabes tryin to imitate us ndn's and Hella NO I don't find flattering - I find it insulting actually.:Yell

I can't stand wannabee's either. But that wasn't what was asked.

I still can post anything I want. And I still think that Alex Santo's has a good southern lead and strong voice but I still give prop's to the COZAD's and BAD MEDICINE,Yellowhammer,Sizzortail,Southern Boyz,ZOTIGH's, dang if I typed all the southern singers,I would be here all day.
