What to do with a tough or dry roast

Well, I was trying to cook a cheap roast the same way I cooked my rib roast, seared then (high temp (400 degrees) for 30 min, then low temp (275) for the rest of the time and using a meat thermometer and stuff.

But my darn rump roast turned out tough and dry. Finally I sliced it up thin and boiled half of it in BBQ sauce for a couple hours. Deelishish!!!

And the other half I plan to slice into strips and boil in fajita seasoning mixed with extra water for an hour or two.

From now on, rump roasts go into a pot with liquid and veggies!!

I crock pot those kinds of roasts long and slow till they fall apart

slicing em thin so that the grains of the meat is short if that makes sense

Try this.
Take your roast and grind it up.
Mix it with some relish.
Add some or spicy or regular Bar-B-Q sauce.
Heat it up and serve it on a bun.
Believe me it's worth a try!
