Schoklat Ice Cream (without an Ice Cream Maker)

OK. I didn't -always- have an ice cream maker. This is EXTREMELY rich though, so small portions, yeah?

4 cups heavy cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand is a popular one)
1 1/3 cups chocolate syrup
2/3 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Beat the cream, condensed milk and chocolate syrup together until soft peaks form. With a spatula, carefully fold in the nuts. Carefully scoop the mixture into a 9 x 13 pan and freeze until firm.

Makes 1/2 gallon

I've done some other variations - instead of walnuts:

coarsely ground peanuts and chopped mini marshmallows (2/3 C. total) for rocky road.

Add butterscotch chips and pecans (2/3 C. total) for chocolate turtles.

Broken candy canes or a 4-5 York peppermint patties cut into little pieces to make 2/3 C. for chocolate peppermint. Add 3-4 teaspoons of peppermint extract for an extra zip.

2/3 C. M&M's that you put through the blender for a couple seconds. No blender? Freeze the M&M's in a bag and pound on the bag full of frozen M&M's with a hammer, meat tenderizer or rock.
