I never have any luck cooking little smoky sausages. I've had them at potlucks and they are well done, nicely seasoned, and just right.
I either burn them and i never get the slightly sweet seasoning right. Anybody got any tips on how to cook them? |

If I got the energy to make the bbq sauce (instead of just buying bottled) I use this recipe: 4 tbsp. butter, melted 1/2 C. Heinz 57 chili sauce 1 C. ketchup 4 T. Worcestershire 2/3 C. brown sugar, firmly packed 1 tsp. dry mustard** 1/2 tsp. black pepper** 1/4 C. chopped onion 8-10 drops Tabasco ** **When I make it for da fambly I make it without mustard, pepper and tobasco (food allergies suck) and substitute 4 T. or so of crushed garlic (for heat) instead. Whisk everything for the sauce together in the crock pot, put in 2-4 lbs of little smokies, add enough water to cover everything a couple of inches and turn the pot on high for about 30 minutes (so everything gets good and hot) then turn down to low and let it cook until the sauce gets -really- thick (usually takes 6-8 hours). |

You make up your favorite biscuit recipe, you place a little smokie in the center and then fold the biscuit dough over, press a little and bake. Take them out and serve them with you favorite mustard and/or katsup.

My mom and aunt put some jelly in with the barbeque sauce. Not too much, I'd say about 2 tablespoons per cup of sauce.
'Course my favorite is to plop 'em in a nice pan of saur kraut, add mustard and a bun, and **Ta-Da** instant farts!

My mom used to make 'em with grape jelly and chilli sauce. Then she went all health-food, crunchy granola and now denies ever eating anything with that much fat, sodium or flavor, LOL.

i use the stovetop, throw those ouppies into a pot of broth. when they aare heated thru, put onto a serving place with an assortment of dipping sauces. my favorite is a horseradish sauce. BBQ sauce is good too.

OMG, those all sound DEELISHISH!!
I decided to wrap them with bacon (cut each slice in 3 or 4 pieces), secure with toothpicks OR let sit in the baking dish overnight (that's what I did). Sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar. Baked them at 350 for 1 hour. Talk about fat, sodium, and flavor!!! |
