If this year isn't proof of the need for a playoff I don't know what is!
There are several teams that deserve a shot. Georgia will get completely locked out but they are the hottest team in the SEC right now. Of course the SEC gets screwed being the toughest football conference. We rarely have anyone come out of the conference undefeated. We beat up on each other too much.

Right now, USC and Oklahoma are playing as well as anybody. Relax Paul, that fact (Big 12/SEC conference difficulty and championship rounds) is noted by the BCS. LSU is also right there...it's really a 3 team race to me. But yes, a playoff would be more fair. The Big10/11 is off big time this year, and I don't believe anybody from that conference is championship material. The rest listed are really pretenders, the top 3 listed would destroy any of them.

Florida, maybe, since Tebow is so good at running or passing. But with Ainge as a choke artist, don't think Tennessee could beat anybody with a pass rush. He basically gave away last night's game. When the # of scholarships was reduced at any one school, parity was sure to follow, and in recent years, there isn't as much difference between teams. U of Mich and Ohio St. used to have 3 deep players better than anybody else's starters in the big 10, but it was big 2 little 8, and boring. Top to bottom, the SEC is probably tougher than any other conference, with the big12 right behind. Pac10 isn't as strong, after the top 2. But college football goes in cycles (Just ask Notre Dame or Nebraska!) and that's what keeps it interesting over time. In general, though, the top 25-30 never all changes much, just their order of finish.

I saw on ESPN there are I think they said 8 teams fighting for #2 in the Title game. From What they were saying this morning they have basically given the first spot to Ohio State.
Another question they were discussing is, does Hawaii have a right to play in a Bowl Game. I say absolutely. I'm not sure how tough their division is, but it seems year after year they are unbeaten and get little or no recognition.

Well its official
Ohio State vs LSU in the Title Game Oklahoma Plays West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl I am watching the BCS special where they are naming the teams going to all the Bowl Games... Here is what I am hearing, the all figured that it would be Ohio State and LSU but none of them think they are the two best teams. They all said Oklahoma should have been there!!! This is where I have a problem with the BCS We need a playoff system then there will be no debate The team that wins in the playoffs and gets to the title game and wins is the champion!!! END of Debate!!!

I thought it was BS that ASU was reduced to a cheap bowl game, the Holiday Bowl...wtf??....personally I figured it should've been ASU-Hawaii for the Fiesta Bowl....and Hawaii got the Sugar Bowl???...c'mon now....you know it's bullshyt!!!....They're the only undefeated team left in the NCAA!!!!....for the championship though...Oklahoma????....I know, I know...everyone here is an Okla. fan but I thought it should've been VT- LSU.....anyway, they should incorporate a playoff system to avoid all the mess ups they are causing as far as scheduling teams to what bowl.....BS!!!!

Well considering what was it 8 teams that all have two losses??? I think OU has just as much a reason to be playing for it as anyone else. I hope OSU kicks the crap outta LSU. I wish Les would go to Michigan so I wouldn't have to see his sorry azz on TV so much. He's really an idiot. I think it'll be fun to play West Virginia though. I'm glad we didn't end up playing a big 12 team. How much fun would it have been to play our own in a bowl game. *L*

I thought that there were at least four teams that can lay claim, Ohio, LSU, Oklahoma and USC. At least they picked two out of my four, and then there were cases to be made for KU, WV, and maybe a couple of others. This has been a two edged sword this year, with some very interesting games, big upsets, the top five getting beaten what, 12 times by unranked teams, and number one and two getting beat two weeks running. The other side of the coin is the BSC looks like a complete mess in picking a national champion. Why couldn't you take the big four bowl games, put the top eight teams in those, have a playoff from those four games, and a College Super Bowl in the end to determine the national champ? A really interesting year overall, and lots of room for debate on a bunch of teams. Just goes to show, anyone can beat anyone on a given day.
