and I don't see anyone bytchen....i see them expressing their opinions so by all means, express your opinions, and i'll express mine right back because I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong here, so people can "bytch" all they want, because my thoughts aren't going to change.

This is only in my opinion I think that when you have a current title you shouldn't run for another one, but if you do then you should give up your title, that's only if you win.
Seriously ~*~ShanLyn~*~ you are the only one trying to stand up for what you are doing. I don't see the other finalists standing up for themselves.
:e11: I ran for the title of 'Miss NWIYC,' and a girl who already had a title beat everyone out for the title and I didn't think that was very fair. Because she already had a title and the rest of us didn't.
I say go for it but if you win then will you keep both titles or will you give one of them up? I think that it is only fair and that you should give one of them up but it is up to you.

I honestly dont think that should she win Powwow.com's title that she should give up her other organizations title. There was nothing in the rules that said she couldnt run if already holding a title, and it would put her first organization in a jam for her to give up her title for an online community's title. Doesnt that seem a bit catty? I've seen pow-wow princesses who have worn two title sashes, and it wasnt considered that big of a deal. As long as she was able to fully represent both organizations and the organizations were satisfied with her representation, I dont see it as being a problem. It CAN cause problems, but its up to the princess to rise to the test. If she says she can do it, and its not breaking any rules, if she wins, she should have our full support, without any naysaying. (I also see a slight difference in representing online orgs and RL orgs as well, but that just may be me. I may be incorrect. I havent hung out here as much as I should have been.) As was pointed out before, your vote is your show of confidence.

Yeah, I know, it kinda bytes when someone holding a title aready wins another one, but it might also make the rest of us work that much harder to show that we hold those abilities and qualities worthy of representing our communities and organizations the next time around. It makes us think of how we can improve ourselves as well.

I'm glad you're standing up for yourself Shanlyn. I think that says a lot about your character.

Just had to add my two cents...

I just want to say Yes, I have held titles in the past and I know where you all are coming from... but the thing that I have to say is that if a lady is holding two or more titles.. there is a reason that the organization/powwow has chosen this individual. The individual has proven themselves worthy not only of holding one title but numerous at that same time. It may not seem fair, but this individual has already deamed themselves worthy... so why question now???

Shanlynn is an amazing young lady. By her representing pws.com you are not only getting lady with a wonderful personality but a frequent of the pws.com family. I think the thought of her already having a title would just make one all the more confident in her abilities to carry out the title of Pws.com

p.s. Come on people don't get all worked up about this.. *L* This is all in fun.. nothing to take to heart.. *LMAO* As if Shanlynn's gonna use this as her future reference when she's off to Graduate school!!! *Roflmao*

My current title is very important to me, and I worked hard to prove to the judges and the committee that I was worthy of the title, and they thought so, and I'm not willing to give that for this online one, which has it's meaning but not necessarily the significance of Miss NAIA.
I wasn't raised to step down and just to be meek and run hiding just because somebody doesn't like what I'm doing, or what I'm trying to do.
I'm accomplished in whatever I do and that's because of hard work, but I'm not going to lose sleep over an online title and some petty arguements .
But I am going to stay in the contest because I feel that as a person I'm capable of representing both titles and I also feel that I am worthy of the title, what qualities don't I possess that would keep me from representin well??

So complain all you want, vote for whomever, but remember that you're voting based on who you think would be best for the pws.com princess, you're going by that, not who holds what title or this or that, because thats not even waht its about so

oh just one minor detail that i've noticed....the people doing the complaining aren't regular visitors/posters to the site....at least by the posts under they're names, so by that they wouldn't really know about the site, unless of course they're using OTHER names and dont want to say who they really are.

i just thought i'd point that out.
Active members of Pws.com would know what kind of person i am, not saying that the title should be given to someone with the most posts, its just something I noticed....so about your business people......i got homiez to confer with :Chatter

And FYI I had wanted to be a judge, and you were one of my top picks so this is not a personal thing. But the way you are carrying yourself now, I will be the first to say I think you should step down. You are not being humble about this now but acting blatantly arrogant like you are owed this title. You say it is for fun, maybe to you but it has a responsibility with it and I don't think yet you realize it.
And for the thing about people using other names, don't open that can of worms little one, it may backfire on you! ;)
