this would be interesting if more powwow results were considered as well as specials, but with the way it is now, its not really an accurate rating.

That's only if you consider the measure of a dancer by the results of contest powwows.

I think that you think that committees think that posting results on powwows.com is a good thing. There are alot of powwows and powwow people that aren't on board with this website. If you want results, you'll need to get people there to get them, perhaps offer some incentive for them to do it. I've talk to a lot of dancers, and in fact, posted about this, who don't like having the results posted. Many are humble in their ways and feel that its not appropriate. I'm always surprised how many of the major powwow people have never heard of powwows.com. Everyone is shifting to facebook for their powwow info. We'll see what happens.

We have people calling committees now. If people have issues, please tell them to contact us. I haven't had a complaint about the results in over a year since we took off the money.

Personally I feel it is important historical information that we want to save. The other big reason we try to build the results is to have an accurate list. With Facebook, MySpace, text messages, emails, etc the results get pasted around after pow wows. People send incomplete and sometime inaccurate results around. Ours are accurate!

Yes, Facebook has taken off for Pow Wow people. No one place is going to be the sole source for Pow Wow info. I hope we offer something extra over other places. And we're adding some more cool features to the calendar!

But I also believe that websites visitors aren't exclusive to one site. I'm a Facebook addict as much as others. But I still visit tons of other community/forum sites. Each offer unique things so I still visit them all. There's a place for us and Facebook! In fact Facebook is starting to help sites drive visitors back to other websites.

If you run into people that don't know about us, spread the word!
