Ready, Aim, Shoot!

PowWows.com's 2007 Photo Contest offers several ways to win great prizes! Spend the summer visiting all your favorite Pow Wows and take lots of photos!

The main contest will be divided into 3 categories--Dancing, Singing, and General.

Photos in these categories will be voted on in a series of polls. The number of polls and length of the polls will be determined later based on the number of entries. The winner of each category will then move onto a final poll for the Grand Prize.

In addition you can also enter your photos in the Special Categories-Humor, Family, Patriotic. These special categories will also be voted on in polls.

And if that isn't enough, there are more ways to win prizes!

Prizes will also be given to the photo with the most views and most comments (not counting the photographers posts).

Prizes
Top 3 from each main category - $15 Gift Card from Shutterfly.com
1st Place - Hotel, Airfare, and and Ticket to the 2008 Gathering of Nations Pow Wow
2nd Place - Canon Rebel XT Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens

3rd Place - $100 Best Buy Gift Certificate

Winner from each Special Category - $25 Gas Card

Photo with Most Views - PowWows.com T-Shirt and $15 Gift Card from Shutterfly.com
Photo with Most Comments - PowWows.com T-Shirt and $15 Gift Card from Shutterfly.com

Rules

All photos must be taken by the entrant.
Photos must be taken after April 15, 2007.
Photos must be taken at a Pow Wow.
All entries must be submitted by August 31, 2007.
No transfers or exchanges of prizes.
Photos must have valid exif information.
Photos may only be entered in 1 main category.
Rules are subject to change.

Grand Prize Information

Travel to Gathering of Nations is for 1 person.
Airfare is limited to $400 for the round trip.
Hotel costs includes room and taxes only. All other charges must be paid by winner.

EXIF information is required on your photos. This is information that your digital camera places inside the file automatically. The gallery software will extract this information and display it.

If your photo does not have this information, you will need to produce information showing the date photo was taken and by whom.

What does General include? is that a free-for-all topic?

Dancers in regalia, is that considered dancing? or is this area reserved for action shots only?

If it is close to being in either, it is your choice.

Dancing is for shots of people dancing. Singing is for shots of drum groups, hand drums, etc.

General is for everything else.
