DO NOT GO to ROGER'S POINT

ok so I've been camping with my family in upstate new york and I thought -hey, why not hit a powwow? so I went to some "contest" powwow they had advertised in a town called ft edward, ny and thought I might be able to win some gas money.. I got there and it was TERRIBLE. me and my fam were the only natives there. it was all white people. there were these weirdo pervert white guys in "loin cloths" with nothing underneath and no leggings. they painted their faces, whooped and hollered, and shook their rattles like idiots. we stayed for 45 min and then got the heck outta there. I can't even tell you how much my family was offended. if you hear of this place and their gathering DO NOT GO! THEY ARE DISRESPECTFUL AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. ugh, I can't wait for indian summet, although that one is getting kinda touristy too...

OMG!!! thats' horrible

you should have chewed them all out before you left!! and took lots of pics and video's n got there organization info and posted it all.. then we could all bombard them with snail mail n ask them what the heck they're doing!

The fact that that lady's bottom half was moving independently of her top half, is truly terrifying. This totally trumps my "The Chief" picture! Well, at least now we know where HE comes from!!!!!!!!

I stumbled upon a powwow in Maine while on tour one summer, after grand entry everyone lined up and said their "Indian names" followed by the expression "indian at heart."

The scariest part was the dudes with just aprons on, just aprons, nothing else above or below, if you know what I mean. Maybe that's a new category "men's apron style," it seems to be spreading.
