I didn't go until Saturday but I only saw two contestants in buckskin and yes it was called a tie. ( Luanna BigGoose and Kimberly Daylight) Clayton Daylight got 1st in men's traditional and the other Daylight got 3rd in men's fancy.

Miami winners

Fancy shawl: Judy Fields
Jingle: Lois Wildcat-1st, Molly King-2nd, Francis Kent-3rd
Buckskin: Kimberly Daylight and Luana Biggoose-tie
Cloth: Mary Wildcat-1st, Renee Alexander-2nd, Pauline Tsosie-3rd
Straight: Otto Hamilton-1st, Ron Anquoe- 2nd, Drew Dreadfulwater-3rd

Sorry that's all I can remember. It was weird because every dancer had to pick their own judge and that's probably why their was a tie.

I think it was Larry Daylight and Steve Lankford's( who is the committee) idea.

Men Fancy was George Alexander 1st
(can't recall) 2nd
?????? Daylight 3rd

Traditional Clayton Daylight 1st
I can't recall his name either but I think
he's a Delaware got 2nd
Cricket Rice 3rd

I was only there Friday night, but my guess would be Larry Tsosie got 2nd in Men's Fancy.

Hey there Morningwater, and the rest. I had to leave early sat evening. Was the 2nd place in Tradish the tall thin guy? I thought I would see FancyShawl there with her family but didn't see them. I was glad to see many good friends again.

I want to take this oppertunity to thank all those who came to gourd dance and help our Quapaw Gourd Dance Society. We are getting fewer and we are glad to see our friends dancing with us.

The dancers chose a judge and the committee had a judge so it wasn't just the partial judges. I'm glad to know that Otto won in the straights. He is a very good dancer and friend.
