Thumbs up Lakehead University Pow-Wow March 11,12 (Did you like it?)

Hi everybody! Quick report on the University Pow-Wow in Thunder Bay Ontario. Awesome singing & dancing! Bear Creek, Chikeewisson (whitefish Bay, Ont) Red Stone Ojibway, Black Water Creek, Chikomagiz etc etc etc. 20 Drums. Host Drum was Spirit Wind. Donated their honorarium to BearCreek & Chikeewisson. Veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy generous group! Very stand up group from Thunder Bay!!!!!!
Head dancers Aaron & Myriah were awesome!!!! Jingle Dress was honoured and all dancers received a gift. OASA & LUNSA hosted this pow-wow (Confederation College/Lakehead University) Over 210 Dancers were present and 20 drums. Numerous visitors, dancers and drums from fly-in remote reservations with numerous visitors from Minnesota. No problems encountered and everyone was very friendly. One wallet was stolen from the changeroom and that was a big boo to whoever did that. All northern style songs. This was their 13 annual spring pow-wow and I am already looking forward to number 14.
Oh yeah! The committee did a hell of a job. Big thumbs up to Deanne Morrison who managed to dance and organize at the same time. LUNSA President Alycia Cameron also gets a big thumbs up for smiling through all the stress! Big thumbs up to Ian Crow from OASA for his understanding and encouraging strong representation from his community of Whitefish Bay for this pow-wow.
