Lincoln's Powwow @ Simnasho, OR

This was a good powwow, lots of fun, good feed on Sunday. Longhouse a bit crowded but manageable. Parking right outside. No complaints. Only a few people took advantage of sleeping on the longhouse floor so the shower line was not long at all. I think most non-locals stayed with friends or got a room at http://www.kah-nee-taresort.com/.

I *think* I remember drum contest going to (1) War Scout (Sask.) and (2) North Bear (Lame Deer, MT) but I could be wrong as I was actually in the middle of packing up when all the announcements were made. Lots of pics are now posted at http://www.powwowtime.com/gallery/v/...6_Simnasho_OR/. Drums (that I remember) were Nation Boys, Indian Nation, Umatilla Intertribal, SRO, High Rock, Dancing Eagle, White Swan, Four Directions, Heart of the Monster, War Scout, North Bear, Pine Grove Juniors, and about five others (sorry I forget the names).

If I manage to get Mackie to send me that list of winners, I'll post it on both sites (here and pwtime).

Just a hop, skip, & jump from here, but didn't make it this year! The pics look good! Should've had more of the drummers tho, the "heart" of the pow-wow!
