Running Water Powwow/ Cherokee Homecoming Rome GA.

This was our first year to this powwow and might I say not the last.
The first thing to say about this one was it was in a great location, amongst very tall oak trees and grass and along a river. Which is a nice way to see a summer powwow nice and shady.
The powwow committee was well organized and the MC had his share of terrible jokes. The arena director worked his *** off and the Dancers!. We saw some really good dancers and enjoyed the singing the most. This was a medium size Powwow not a huge crush of people and certainely enough dancers to keep things interesting and moving.Overall we had a great time and look forward to next year.

I am originally from Ok and I have only lived in this area for a short year so to compare those Powwows to Powwows in this part of the country is hard to do.There are certainly differences but, It was a Powwow! and I was struck by the fact that many different tribes make up this country of ours and we are all different. But the Powwow is our one common ground that we can all meet at and share our experiences and songs.
