It's usually a good powwow. The past few years, there have been quite a few dancers there. It's only held during the day because they have no lighting set-up for nighttime. Get there early and check out the flea market before the powwow starts at noon

I'm been lucky enough to attend this powwow. It's a good powwow. It's laid back, on a point system, but not a lot of pressure. The committee does its best to make sure things go make things go smoothly. For those who are able to come to Houston for this dance, you should. All dancers & drum groups near & far should try to make down that way. It may have contests, but they try to have plenty of intertribals for those dancers who are not in the contests. They don't have any gourd dance sessions scheduled, they haven't had any for past few years. Maybe in the future, they can. Also, all registered contest dancers who have travelled at least 200 miles have a chance to win some gas $$$. Every little bit helps.
