In MESQUITE, NEVADA..... it's like an hour outside (north--towards Utah) of Las Vegas....

Yeah It's Warmish right now it's in the 50-60 degree range...
it's winter so it's kinda cold....
but it's in a tent!!!
Its a tent right outside the Casablanca Hotel & Casino

I got a text message there were 15-16 drums and about 800 dancers!

The N. Host drum didn't show up so Meskwaki Nation filled in as host!

This powwow was definitely ON!!!! There ended up being 20 drums and 800 dancers, as well as many spectators with no seating. Weather was fine during the day, but the wind made it a bit chilly during the night. Great powwow for the first year. We'll be going back next year.

Yup Definitely going next year!!! I hear they're gonna up the prize money and split the Adult division plus add a Chicken category. I can't believe there was only one dancer in the Teen Boys Fancy...! easy win there!

Yup, this powwow turned out pretty good. Except for some of the seating/viewing issues...but i hear they are addressing it for next year.
