Ripped off!!!!!!
Hey how you doing y'all...been a while since I been here.....Everything is looking good and new people I see......welcome....
Anyway, I was just sending a warning out to everyone out in powwow land about this guy....I'm pretty sure some of you are bros with him but so did some of my boys till he ripped them off as well.....His name is John Stiffarm, a Gros Ventre, out of Montana. I had asked him to make a drum from me, so i sent him the money he asked for, $400 dollars up front and I have not seen or heard anything. This was ordered back in march of this year. Apparently 3 other drums had ordered from this guy as well and he took their money and ran as well. This guy was recommended by some very well known people who trusted him. And guess what? They don't trust him for shyt anymore. So anyway, if y'alls see him out there anywhere let him know I would like my money back or at least the drum thanks.

Yeah that sucks its got to be family ennit?.....anyway, for some of you who think I shouldn't have posted his name here, I thought long and hard about this one. It has been 8 months, and every phone number I had recieved for him was not answered or returned. My friends even confronted him about the shady deals he was doing. From the first time I talked to this guy he seemed like he had his stuff together, talked like he knew about respect. He even told me that he would hate to see his reputation ruined over something like this or that it would affect his kids. Well, it has been a long time coming. I just submitted the paperwork to the judge in Ft. Belknap for a civil suit against him.
One word of advice to all those who conduct business, be responsible and have some honesty. Your business would thrive better. So just throwing the word out to everyone, stay clear of his "business". Too bad this might even have an effect on his drum group.

John's one of my homeboyz, and honestly he's never done me dirty, but I can understand your frustration. However, none of us has heard his side of the story. I hope that some one here is able to get a hold of him for you, though.
He is a friend of mine but I don't have anything to do with his business matters so all I have to go on is what you have relayed to e'ryone here.... Wish that it didn't have to go down like that, though, for both of you....I don't like seeing anybody's name being dirtied up, especially here, but it's up and posted, I can't be the one to make a ruling on posts in the public forum, so it's said and done... |

hey dude! John John had never did me wrong either in mah life time. From what I can see mah cuz knows a lot bout respect and overall his a good man and a well good singer. I am sorry you had to experience this with mah cuz. Well, I will certainly get da word to mah cuz.

maybeee..., he's being really reeaalllllly cautious about selecting the right materials for your drum.. haha, or hes putting alot of thought into the details so youll get your moneys worth.. *yeah right*
sorry to hear bout your the situation. i am sure everything will work out in the end for you. if not we will just have to get a squad together jump outta C130s and do a pre dawn raid on his ***

Anyway, back to business, like I said, I can see how he is a good friend to some of you, but like I said, I called and had people trying to ask him for me about whats going on and stuff. Last time I had talked to him I told him if anything came up and he couldn't do it then keep me in the loop just don't blow me off. Well you can see what happened. I tried to be as patient as I could, but 8 months waiting for even a howdy do is long enough. So if he wants to contact me before his subpoena arrives, Lisa you can pm me and I'll give ya my number to give to him. ntownnative, I would be glad to hear his side of the story so I know for myself what the situation is, but I can't cuz he's avoiding myself and my bros he's suppose to make drums for. So like I said if you can get him to talk to me and settle this before it gets way out of hand then I'd be glad to work it out, but I can't do anything if he doesn't want to talk. Thanks

To be honest, sometimes it takes me many months to get to things that people order, sometimes they give a down payment, sometimes not. Your posting is a reminder to me to get on the ball (and off the internet) and get my projects moving.
Maybe its just the shove that John will need to get you your drum. But what about those people I made dresses and stuff for who haven't paid me up yet. Should I post their names here? They know who they are, or do they need a reminder. |

I know da feelin!!...I asked someone to rig up a fan for muh lil bro, and he's been paid in full for like EVER now. He did contact me and let me know some things that are goin on in his life that were weighing heavy on his mind and spirit...which is understandable. Then, he said things were all good and My stuff was priority since its been paid in-full for quite some time now...I don't wanna name names as of yet, because I'd like to keep da faith ya know? i'd like remain positive with people...
 ...But I do know da feelin of bein "Jipped." My fam had a similar experience with a sioux dood from Rapid city, he was supposed to rig up a roach for me. My parents bought some miscellanious stuff he had, and gave him money to get home safe because @ the time he was sort of my idol....but then we never heard from him again. Last I heard he was in Jail for "dealing" or something....so owno. I can bead, and sew...I guess the only thing I can do is learn how to roaches, and i'm already workin on figurin out how to do real nice fans....I aint quite got that threadstackin pinned but i'll get there if it kills me. Cuz I'm startin to think I cant trust NOBODY for nuffin...So i'll just have to learn how to do each and EVERY kind of work in da free world, quillwork, leatherwork, weavin!, and whatever else is involved.... j/k Its just difficult because i'm drop-dead POOR! on SSI it takes everything I have to try and get things together for my fam...
