It was a nice gathering... Yeah it rained right before GE saturday afternoon and so they didn't have it until 2p but it was smooth sailing after that. I was suprised that alot of people, dancers and drums showed for this gathering.

Cozad must've been stretched really thin this weekend. The major dudes were at the Ceremonial, but they missed the singing contest on Friday night, so they weren't able to place in the contest. |

This was a good powwow despite the rain saturday afternoon. All I can remember in the contest dancing was Matt Etsitty took Mens no. Traditional and Chance Sherman took 3rd... Ed Scott took Mens Grass... Womens Jingle, 2nd was Kelly Etsitty... Eugenia Etsitty placed in Womens Fancy... i took 2nd in Womens So. Trad. and that is all i can remember.... the host drums did a wicked job! Blu Thunder sounded awesome and it was good to see Brando Jack dancing again. It had been awhile! congratz to every1!

Mens Southern Strait Special!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As advertised, there was a Mens so strait special, which was a $1,000 winner take-all!!!They did not have it!!!!Mostly all the guys who tried out waited after the pow-wow for the announcement of the winners, this was past 1am!!!What a bummer that there was nothin but 1 number given for the winner!!!NO FAIR at all!!!There was no tabulation or nothin for proof of THIS winner!!!The commitee told everyone...SOME guy walked away with the whole tabulation!!!!So they told the guys who participated that they would all be paid if the tabulation was not found!!! I guess there was no $1000 at all in the first place!!!!I call this FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Man!! That Must've Been Crazy. Just Like A Navajo To Be All Greedy. Okay, I Know That Family And They Did That A Few Years Ago, Back In 99 I Think. They Had A Contest Powwow, And At The End, They Didnt Have The $$$. They Claimed Someone Stole The $$. I Thought That Was Messed Up. And Guess What, One Of Their Own Children Took It....yep, That's So Screwed Up. So Who Did Win That Special Contest?? I Would Like To Know.
