Cant recall who the winners were but how about a report?
first off there was a 10 dollar gate fee for the tourist which kept the turnout low. Lotta dancers though... A commitee member gave me the honor of carrying in the American flag for Grand entry < and I'm not even from there. That really ment alot to me,I tell ya. all around I really enjoyed myself and had a good time. The only thing I can say from the negative side was the arena. It was this interlockig plastic tile like stuff that was placed over all the rock they put in the fairgrounds. Well that plastic got really freaking hot. Saturday nite saw some of the dancers at the IHS for burns on their feet , aon little girl really had some burned feet. I am dumbfounded as to why they would have used that crap for us to dance on.. Then Sunday they started hosing it down and at the start of Grand Entry and so we had HOT WATER on top of it all. They could have thought of putting some artificial grass or something on top. SHEESH. All in all it was good but I hope they get it together next year. Whoose got pics??? Ireally need to wear my reading glasses when typing up. Last edited by PappyRoach; 07-03-2006 at 05:25 PM. |

Had a good time!
I had a good time at this pow-wow, I agree that the arena was the worst part of the pow-wow. I don't know, I think that the committee had good intentions, but man that stuff was HOT! The poor golden agers had to dance on that stuff right after grand entry in the hot sun (it was about 90ish degrees all weekend). I've gone 3 years in a row and will go again next year :)
