No one wants to create a disturbance and that is understandable. But if there is a bad feeling like that, a powwow committee should listen to an elder - even if it is after the fact.

Seriously, the people I know in Minnesota and Wisconsin have said things about some of the dresses (one where the lass had put in cutouts or dresses that are too short or form fitting), but not about non Anishnabek dancing the style in general. Now if a contest were advertised that made it sound like it was supposed to be ritual, that would be a whole different story.
