If you follow State Route 87 (Beeline Highway) going northeast out of Phoenix/Tempe, you will pass Shea Blvd and eventually see the Fort McDowell Casino grounds on your left. Keep going until you cross the river. The powwow and fair grounds in on your right after you cross the bridge. There will be signs directing where to go once you see the Casino.

geez, I'm ready for this one right now! It's always my favorite. Last 2 years, I got traffic tickets on shea blvd though... one coming and two(!) going. Maybe this year I'll go the long way...

Also include Comedy Night on your schedule for this weeK:

Legendary Navajo songwriter and performer Vincent Craig will get out his old guitar and play his crowd-favorite songs, "Rita" and "C'hizzi" to a Phoenix crowd on Friday, July 14, 2006, the night before the Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI) finals on Saturday. Joining Vincent will be the Tohono O'Odham funny woman Teresa Choyguha who is becoming the best in stand-up comedy in southern Arizona.

Vincent and Choyguha will perform at two big shows on Friday night, July 14th at 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, located at 4000 North Central, Phoenix. Doors open at 6 PM for opening seating.

oh yeah, the Phoenix Indian Center is selling tickets for both these events. I think a NABI ticket gets you in all week too.
