I agree some judges will only look at buckskin dancers if they are combined!

Jingle and Fancy shawl are separate, of course they are about as simular as southern cloth and buckskin in they way you dance. But you would have had to dance buck and cloth both to know that.

Judges think that buck automatically beats cloth, but it's not checkers where the King can jump....

There's probably not anything that the committee can do about this now, but I will forward this situation on to the committee members. I am not affiliated with the casino (who provides the funding) or the committee (who coordinate the event), but I was able to split the singing contest into separate categories last year. Stay tuned for next year's gig!

2006 Orme Dam Victory

Last year, a dancer who competed on Saturday, wasn't even there on Sunday and placed in Men's Southern Straight.

What's up with that?

That's one reason that I kinda wish we'd stay away from the competiton end of the trip...it gives bad vibes. Just pay out everyone.

But then, some people'd hafta get jobs and be responsible adults or something...and it would totally harsh their groove, y'know?

Said they'd bring it to the committe, so lets keep our fingers crossed, it is NEVER to late to SEPARATE categories.

Well, one would think they could come up with the extra $6K for the two categories, but, it's only a few days away. However, we wouldn't know until registration time, eh?

Should be nice during the day in the sun, but a bit cool under the shade. Will be cold at night, so bring your jackets and coats!
