Thought I would share this with everyone. Hope u like it.
Why We Baid Our Hair (poem by Stacks_Alot) Why we braid our hair Is by the Tradition of your people May it be taken, married, or from birth Why we braid our hair, is Tradition From our Ancestors To our Old Ones and Elders Grandmother or Grandfather Why we braid our hair Is our memories The strength of our people In each lap and twist Why we braid our hair For prayers or honor But as Creator looks down and sees us I believe that is why we braid our hair.

There once was an indun mother who cooked, beaded and cared like no other she said with a frown as she put her project down dangit, I sewed myself to another!

If you've ever had one of those hairs That gets caught 'tween your cheeks down there Then you'll know what I mean About hair in your jeans And that's why we braid our hair!
