Childrens Contest Pow-wow, Junior, and Teen catagories. Contest Pow-wow starts at grand entry 7:00 pm Contest places in all catagories, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. Tiny tot catagories will be sponsored by Gwen Bahe and family. Adult dancers welcome to dance exibition.

Pow-wow will be at the Ft. McDowell Recreation facility baseball field, (for information on camping and fees contact: Ft. McDowell Recreation staff @ 480-816-7836. Fee will be charged for vendors, Contact Minnie Amos @ 602-768-1248. Pow-wow schedule: Gourd Dance session: 1:00-4:30 pm, supper break, Gourd Dance session: 6:00-7:00pm. Pow-wow Grand Entry: 7:00 pm Pow-wow 7:00-12:00. Pow-wow in conjunction with Conference on Meth in the Native Communities, for more information on Conference contact: Connie OMarra @ 602-263-1518. This is an alcohol/drug free event, Pow-wow committee and Ft. McDowell Yavapai/Apache are not responsible for loss or theft of items during or after this event.

It's probably the Host Southern drum - TALKING SPIRIT from Shiprock, New Mexico. New to this area but well known in N.M. 4 corners area.

yepperss.. Talking Spirit is the southern host and scheduled for gourd dance.. (per the committee).

ok, so no mutton sandwich. But the taco was good and so was the company. By the way, the map posted here SUCKED!! Saguaro lake was nice... Once I got there, I had a good time. I don't think the vendors were all that happy with the small crowd but, otherwise, it was alright. Singers were great, some good dancers too.
