...so does that mean NO SLOW WAR DANCE SONGS for the men???...just straight up fast songs???....can someone post all the rules and whatever else about this special in ONE post....hehehehehe.....LOL....NYA:WEH again!

So struggs you are not doing anything with the judging and you are not dancing so when you are down by the arena floor are you just suppose to stand there like a statue ? Oh wait you do that anyways .....haha

For real though, No slow war dance songs for the men (women too

, but in regular competition, the men get the slow songs)

Only competitors can dance during the special.
18 and over is a MUST.
Iroquois ensemb is required.
Do not have to be Iroquois to dance in the special.
GOOD THOUGHTS AND NO HATING ALLOWED WHATSOEVER!!!

I think pretty much sums it up...
After all that, who all is getting in on it? Or is atleast going to stick around to watch?

Is there gonna be womens dance for the women? I think that it is weird how War Dance is just a given for the men and hardly any powwows ask the women to do a womens dance. It kinda goes back to what The Retired Smoke Dancer made about the old style. Now days SOME women try to dance like the men and that's not how it was, and they actually look a little silly. I've been to a powwow where a war dance was played for the women (i know it's not going to happen at GON) and I thought that it looked odd and not right. Suppose that this is a whole other topic...but I was just wonderin what ya'll thought.

I'm excited for this special. If enough interest is shown, hopefully, the Matthews will make it an annual thing.

Well miss struggs if you must know i started to post but my cheap computer shut off on me. I was going to say that since i am such a hardcore fan of the smoke dance competions i will be there until the last dancer leaves. Besides if i am not there who will you have to 'throw water at' and tell to get you things. haha....

Well struggs i do live to make you feel better about yourself. I suppose i could fit a hairdryer in my "bag" but it will be so heavy from having to carry all of the other essentials.

So back to the reason for this thread all you smoker dancers be ready for a night of marathon dancing with the last two dancers standing going to Hawaii and Las Vegas. Good luck to all those attending Gathering !!
