With Apache Gold just south of Chinle, any drum that has a chance of placing would think twice about being at a non-casino powwow.
But, Cozad does have a lot of fans in the Chinle and surrounding areas, so Youthfest should have a lot of spectators that don't want to deal with no-vacancy motel signs close to Apache Gold. Come on out and rock with Callin' Eagle, Cozad and other faithful drum groups that stay close to home! |

Yup, Cozad has fans in and around Chinle town............gettin' famous and they are lookin' forward in visiting the Navajo Nation. I've read that they were selected as the "Best Southern Drum Group".
Come and rock the house with us......Callin' Eagle and Cozad will be in town! ! ! Stay close to home and enjoy.... |

Split the drum. Larry and crew go South and they'll probably end up with maybe Leonard Jr., Rusty and one other guy at Chinle.......OR it'll be someone like Andy at Chinle. There's enough Cozad's to split the drum and carry the name at least three times!! ...it's cool though. You're STILL gettin' Cozad and some good singing.

Youth Fest Powwow........a small powwow but usually a good one.....This powwow and Canyon Echoes are the only two known powwows in Chinle for the past several years........If you want a good show, Youth Fest is the one.....they go by the schedule and a few specials which is always quick and dancin' time again. They don't drag after midnight.

I really wanted to go to this one but I have plans for that night. I wish I could go and hear Calling Eagle, its been a long time since I heard them sing at a powwow. I made a fancy feather outfit for my ex's nephew and I want to see him dance but I'm trying to avoid her now, I need time away from her. Maybe I'll stop by later in the day for a hour or two.
Or three. Or four.
