We had a blast this weekend!!! I want to give props out to my boys Eagles Dancing for taking 1st place in drum contest!!! Way to go boys and you guys sounded so good this weekend!! Southern Suns got 2nd place, Red Earth got 3rd place and Blackbear received 4th place in Drum contest. Kit Landrey (sp?) got 1st in Women's Jingle.
It was great seeing Bear Creek this weekend and singing a couple songs with them. Kit made me feel very welcome at the drum! Thanks!! Well hope to see everyone at Lumbee Spring Pow Wow in May!!! |

First of all, on behalf of the Haliwa-Saponi Powwow Planning Committee I would like to thank everyone that attended the powwow this year. It was very hot out there, but I hope we provided enough water for the dancers and singers. We had a few incedents, but I think everyone is alright. A special thanks to the Stonefish, Klein families and other families and dancers from as far away as Canada for joining us this year, hope we gave you some good southern hospitality. Also to the drums, thanks for coming out and singing. Another special shout out to Bear Creek, hope the food was good Saturday night.
