Hell yeah I'm going!!! Woo hoo - and lots from down this way, (Pembroke) and from Richmond and possibly even MD are coming... it's ain't about the money - it's about the pow-wow... Man, we're jonsing bad - Joe's pow-wow isn't until Feb. 18 - this is a special treat for all of us to get to see each other a month earlier than normal....

it's a possiblity that i may be attending this pow wow... i know i have been not-so-patiently waiting the new season... it'll be a long day but hey.. any CHEAP lodging round that way? This momma bear and two cubs may need something...

There are a few "cheap" hotels in Roanoke Rapids I guess. Check on hotels.com or another site and look up Roanoke Rapids, NC. Thanks ACE for the comment, it's not about the money, we're gonna have a hell of a time.

Yeah - what Saponi4ever said - Roanoke Rapids is the closest - ask for the Native discount - if they don't have one - they should....

- hey, who is the host hotel for the April pow-wow - that would be the place to send everyone - get some good marketing support up now...

So, how did it go? Did you all have a lot of fun? We would have come, but, we had to drum at a High School last night to help raise money for the Childrens Hospital in Richmond. Thought about y'all though.

Yeah - I heard about ya'll's obligation...glad you could do that - I used to volunteer a the Children's hospital every year during telethon.

I will tell you - and I have not heard anything else about it - but I thought it was a tremendous success. The community came out in droves!! Marty did a great job as MC - the drums (Stoney Creek, Red Earth, Red Oak) rocked - I missed the handdrum contest, but heard that Dwayne Harris won... not sure who won the Story telling contest - oh yeah, the baby girl - she was sooo cute... alot of dancers - good food - great participation - everyone was chilling...

I don't know this to be a fact, but I suspect it will def happen again - I had a marvelous time... taking pictures with my cellophone - wooo hooo - since I got no reception AT ALL in Hollister, I had to make use of my gadget...

Great job everyone - all the hard work paid off - good time!!
