The results of the 2005 Best Major Powwow are in. Here are the winners by vote percentages:

1st Place: "Gathering of Nations" - 23% of Vote

2nd Place: Morongo "Thunder and Lightning Powwow" - 22% of Vote

3rd Place: Washington D.C. "National Powwow" - 19% of Vote

4th Place: (Tie) - 7% each
Toronto "Skydome"
Schmitzun "Championship of Song and Dance"
United Tribes "International Powwow"

7th Place: (Tie) - 5% each
"Denver March"
"Julyamsh"
"Red Earth"

10th: Saskatoon "FSIN" - 3% of Vote

Yikes...the '9 at Red Earth....Whome, are there any real '9's anymore..like there used to be? I went to the '9 at Red Earth a few years ago and was not impressed. The drinking was out of control, and the singing was hobbyist. LOL Remember when everyone sang for hours, took a break, then sang til the sun came up and then the wise thing to do was head out about then because things took a bad turn. LOL
