If you are dark skinned, expect to be asked for a CDIB card if you are registering to dance. That's right, from a tribe that is known to be dark skinned! My advice is to remind them of who re-populated their tribe. Otherwise it is a great powwow with great vendors. I can't tell you about the camping as I usually stay with my sister.

I see,
Thank you Traditional lady for the heads up.
My heart is again sadden to hear this. I was really looking forward to this powwow. I am very surprise to hear this for sure. Once again its the old,if your not white, your just not RIGHT,... Well, I dont have to travel 12 hours and spend my money to be treated this way by them, I can stay in my own state and be treated that way. LOL Its just amazing! |

oops
Sorry Kakeeya,
I'm so use to having to defend myself I throuth you were talking to me. Your so lucky you have never had a suffer the embarrassment and humilination of all this card mess. And what makes it wrost is that most of these people have African American blood in them but are too shame to admit it...sadly. I am very proud of who I am. Too bad I can't celebrate it in peace like everyone else! Rainbow |

well it's clearly not "the old 'if you're not white'..." thing since they apparently have something against darker-skinned people! haha.
anyway, I always liked this powwow. except last year it was HOT HOT HOT!! they had us dancing under one of those giant white tents that had a clear roof. and then the floor was covered with black astro turf. so we were getting backed from above and below. I think it was pretty much a green house! I don't know if it's gonna be in the same spot again. does anyone know if the new dance grounds are finished yet? And also, i've never seen or heard anything about the committee being down on different shades of people. always been nice...
