Schemitzun 2006

Does anyone have any information on Schemitzun 2006? Where is a good place to get a room for this dance? Thanks.

LOL...went to the powwow and a boxing match broke out!....i was waiting for them to start pulling out their dance sticks and war clubs and start going nutz...j/k....we usually stay in groton it's about a 15 minute drive from the powwow. last year we stayed @ the super 8 .and it was pretty good ! ...lots of stores right there around the hotel but if you can i think you might save on money if you get a room a few minutes drive from the casinos...the closer you are to them the more $$ you pay...thats what i think annawayz....heres a link http://www.schemitzun.com/ ..it don't really have to much info for the singers and dancers but i think it's for more general info!.....a pwsdotcomer by the name of SCHEMITZUN usually posts the prize moneys and the other stuff.

maybe this year they will have some showers for the ones camping out!....dance hard for three dayz and then drive home WITHOUT showering since you left from home!!!!....eeeeee....LOL.....maybe if i think of more stuff to post i will after !...laterz

Wow

Do anyone know if this is what they plan on doing this year?
What about the drums. How many where there. We hear not as much as 2 years ago when we went. What a shame.

just a shame that people had to act all ruggit last yr...i think people should jus grow up already...the powwow may not have as many dancers or singers as the yrs before, but in my opinion, it is still a better powwow then most rinky ones up here in the northeast....its the only powwow i go to out here besides salamanca...

it is true - the closer you the more expensive it gets for rooms. but calculate in the gas and YOUR time (getting up earlier, getting back later) - it probably evens out. i like two trees inn - only time i go to schemitzun is wit host drums .. lol that doesn't sound right .. and they usually get rooms there. there is a shuttle services from there to the grounds ...

I like to the Two Trees Inn...good restuarant too. I do the Native Basket Marketplace in August every year and they put me up there last year.

i agree about factoring in the miles to and from the pow wow from your hotel gas wise. i was at one hotel a few years ago, yeah it was on the cheaper end, but what i saved in hotel i spent on gas and breakfast.

the place i say, the owner gives me a better rate, i have been going there since just about when it opened. i went there in febuary with a ( now ex-) boyfriend. love the place. its one of those places where breakfast is in cluded with the room.
