There hasn't been too many posts lately.
When there is, more often than not, it's a "who's yur favorite" post. Okay, Well who is your favorite, NonIndian (not a single drop of ndnblood): singer, drum, emcee, arena director AND DANCERS?????????????

Mike's group!!!! (Southern drum) been together for quite sometime, had people come and go from the group but they still rock lol from collinsville Il area they always have somebody like Millard Clark sitting in with them...Dale Bessie for emcee (don't know if he is still doing that) same area as drum group.....Anna Cornelius best lulu'er lol and woman backup singer for Mike's group you go girl she also dances!! these are people I respect cause they have always respected the way and not claim to be any kind of native american tribe and have played a big part in my life as I was growing up, same for Lesley Russell pretty good gourd dancer, straight dancer not sure if he does it anymore from the Blanchard Ok area. same with Don Danhauser from the indiana area. Paul Calacterra for his knowledge on craftwork (my teacher) Aho!...I have missed a few names due to not knowing if they still dance, sing or take part anymore if I remember these names I will sure post them.

I was not going to reply to this post because at first I could not think of anyone worth mentioning, but then I remembered someone. This man is someone I hold very close to my heart, I often think of him as being indian, but I remember him saying he claims no native heritage. His name is Joseph Z and he is a flute maker and player, and a damn good one too. He makes some of the most beautiful flutes I have ever seen, and he plays as good or better than Kevin Locke, Tommy Wildcat or Joseph Firecrow.
This man took me into the circle for the first time in my life as a dancer. If it were not for that, I probably would never had started dancing, and would be a much worse person today. Mentioning Joseph makes me think of another white man, he is known as Kuzin Bruce. He is also a flute maker, although his are not as detailed or beautiful to look at as Joseph's, but they more than make up for lack of appearance in the way they sound. Bruce makes a flute that is very easy to play, the sound is not raspy or unclear, and they are very much on key. He also gave me my first flute, and I have bought 4 more flutes and won a 6th in a raffle. I only have ever bought one flute from Joseph, his are more expensive, and more often than not I am broke. Bruce and Joseph are very good friends of mine, and in my opinion are more than worthy of being mentioned on this board. Derek |

Sandy Rhoads is a really good non-indian, very respectful and knowledgable person of native ways in both pow-wows and sweat lodge. Then I know another good non-indian that takes part in NAC, that is Bob Trickey. He is a very good drummer and fireman. Many people across Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, and all the way up to Wisconsin, call up on him for help. He always has wood split and ready for a meeting.
