Blackhorsebutte, I realize it probably sounded strange having numerous winners with the same last name but if you would have known the names of the dancers you would have realized that probably at least 1/2 of them were named Lynch or Richardson. Being that Barry puts on this powwow alot of the folks in Hollister support him and show up for his powwows. When the head judge picks judges he tries to pick folks that are impartial no matter what their name is. And as far as people missing Grand Entry, if you miss Grand Entry and still get place first place by all three judges then of course you are still ahead in points. Cece_ND, I know what you are saying about folks not dancing but we usually don't take points for social dances.

Thanks to all the powwows.comers that were there for your support. Maybe someone can remember next year that we need to take a pic!

I understand what has been said, but why post in the rules that you will only get spot check points if your are dressed and dancing your style...." No Walk Arounds" The two step that was announced to be a spot check..........a lot of dancers did not dance. Now was there a spot check or was that just said to get participation..............Enquiring mind wants to know.

Tallinjun you are right it says "No Walkarounds" but that is never really enforced. Don't ask me why - you would have to check with folks higher up than me. I don't even remember that it was said the 2-step was for points. I was probably doing paperwork and not hearing what was said. I am sure it was to get folks up to dance. As for the spot checks rule, that isn't in our rules so I don't know anything about that.

They should have had a Chicken category for you guys, maybe next year!!!

Also to Raoule for placing in teen grass dance.
