i would like to have see a bigger variety of judges
this years judges were pretty much the same ones as last year in some categories. (not naming names, i just have a good memory)
i think that they should MIX IT UP not get judges from the same family, or people that have traveled together forever as family to judge. get judges from various tribes and different geographic regions (not the same judges every year). i did like how they used the whole arena to run jr categories etc. the hospitaltiy was awesome as usual. hope the tribe strives for variety when selecting next years head staff and also selects individuals from different tribes. |

The sound system was horrible
for a big buck pow wow this was the worst ever sound system
cut out bad mix etc they had speakers every where but they were not functioning properly and or the person operating them was incapable of operating it properly. and no one ever acknowledged that fact. |

Morongo was a good powwow. People make it sound like there was a bunch of drama, but there really wasn't. I'd be willing to bet that most people at the powwow didn't even realize what was going on behind the scenes. Everybody I talked to said they had a good time & paying for a flight and motels to be there was worth it. This was a good powwow, and it could be even better. The only thing that might keep people away next year is the sound system, the dirt arena, and maybe the choice of head staff....other than that...it ranks right up there with schemitzen, GON, and all the rest of them:) If I can take time off work, I'll be back next year. the bird singing competition and peon games were what i enjoyed most btw.:)

Oh sure! I can already hear the committee saying "this is not a casino powwow ... we are very limited on funds for a professional sound system".
I've had some say "we'll be happy to have you if you're looking for a tax right-off". |
