Getting closer and closer. Who all is getting excited? Who all is looking forward to it? So far, the weather is supposed to be nice, just, some scattered showers on Sunday.

To everyone else, someone told me last night that Franklin, VA is about 19 miles away. They have 2 hotels that I have seen.

Comfort Inn 757-569-0018

Super 8 Motel 757-562-2888

These are closer than Roanoke Rapids. So you might want to try them.

I am getting ready! I leave tomorrow morning! I look forward to seeing everyone there. I don't have internet access there so if you have questions for me, please post them by tomorrow morning. If not LSS can help you untill Friday morning when he leaves.

Everyone be careful this weekend travelling - and hope to see most of you next weekend at Lumbee - this will be Rachel's first pow-wow (except for UNCP Campus one) since her accident. She is looking forward to seeing everyone. And...me too.

Okay, all I have to say is if you have dancer/contest rules like the ones that you had...maybe you should have posted them so that ppl can know what they are and not waste their time going to the pw, especially about 500+ miles far!!!

It wasn't right and it's still not. Someone or some ppl better smartin' up unless you just want local locals going. Never Never never again!!! Lemme tell you now that the word WILL get out. I GUARANTEE!

It was a dumb rule...I know. And I fought to get it thrown out. I made my peace with Wayahsti and he knows where I am coming from. This was something that was not my idea and he knows that. I am not taking responsibility for this one. And I stressed all the home about this. I feel your disgust, the problem is that people that need to read these type of comments aren't on this duscussion board. My hisband made a good suggestion though. He said to print whatever was printed here and give it to the tribe.

I will do that but I can't stress myself out about this b/c like Jay said this is not Kristey's powwow it's the Meherrin Powwow and I try to shoulder too much of the burden. I felt aweful last night and I was just getting back to normal. I am not going to get my stomach in a knot over this again. I will pass your feelings along to the powers that be and hopefully they will see. If not you are absolutely right...they will lose their powwow. I told them this would happen, but they didn't belive me. So, I can't worry about it. Again, apologies from me and I hope you don't feel that I am blowing this off, but I can't stress any more about this.

I didn't get the list of winners from the office before I left. I will try and get them poasted soon. There was one mix up with Women's Jingle that I can say right now

1st Jackie Klein
2nd Amy Hewlin (they had called out Carolyn Lewis but this was the wrong name called out) Amy knows that she won and was paid for 2nd place
3rd Vauhnda Hilton

I will get the rest later but I promised Amy that I would let everyone know that she was the one who placed 2nd and not Carolyn Lewis.

OK I'll post the rest later.
