If you would like to submit a package for our powwow, you are welcomed to. We have not yet set up an "honorarium" for next summer's event, but keep it in mind. Please go to our current website for more information. Keep in mind that this is last years information, so it may change once the committee decides on a budget. The drumgroup that we brought up this summer was awesome; keep in mind they sent in a complete package, that included their music on 2 cds, they had lots of photos, they had regalia and danced, and most importantly they all practiced sobriety. southernX,

Keep doing what you're doing and sing for the pure enjoyment of singing! You seem to be on the right track.

Committees pick their host drums according to some of these criteria:

1. Drum budget of committee
2. Reputation of Drum Group
3. Current popularity of Drum Group
4. Previous relationships made between drum group and committee members.

I am not sure what you mean by "quite some time now?" To many young people, a long time is a couple of years.

I have not heard of Southern X other than on powwows.com?

:)

well what i meant for quite sometime now is, while our group is quite new (been singing together a little over a year now) 1/2 our singers came from one drum another the other 1/2 from different drums so in all we have been singing for years. but only as SX as mentioned as above, our lead singer has been singing for over 10years now and he is only 23 as most of our group is around the same age group and have been singing for quite some time as well. we sing for the enjoyment of singing as well as for the traditional aspect of it. we are not trying to make it big overnite but traveling to new places and meeting new friends is always great, and if you havent hear about us other then on pws.com u will soon enough as next year we will be hitting the pw trail from here to there and every where!!! oh yea thaks for every who has posted!! visit www.southern-xtreme.com sign our guest book and havea look around
