Wow, only a few responses. I guess powwows here are that bad?

It was fun, anyway. That was great when they gave out school supplies to the school age kiddies. They were so happy and content with it. Nothing but kids dancing and very down-to-earth people singing and participating. Zotigh Singers even came out along with Sacred Path, nice to hear the singing again, but yeah, seems like hardly any powwows in Albuquerque. Maybe that is due to the infamous IOU Powwow. But there are hardly any competion powwow so I guess that's may be the reason why NM does not attract powwow dancers and singers. Just my two-cents.

Thank you for your reply, yes that is true. I have been at some occurances where pay out was a big issue. Wish that would change, but unfortunately I'm not on any commitee. But I remember back in the day, without contest powwows, people just use to dance and come to NM powwows. Those were the days when money was the last thing on people's minds.
